School Rules and Policies
Classes begin at 8:25 a.m. and finish at 3:30 p.m. for kindergarten students, and 4:00 p.m. for elementary students. Please ensure your child arrives at school before 8:15 a.m. so they do not disrupt school activities. Teacher supervision will be provided from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Please make sure your child is dropped off and picked up within these times. Teachers are not on duty after 5:00 p.m. If you pick your child up after 5:00 p.m. you will be charged 50 baht per day for school staff to look after your child. Money will be collected at the end of the month. If someone other than the parents, guardian, or regular driver is to pick up a child after school, please notify the school in advance.
Parents are not allowed to accompany their children into the school. Please drop your child off outside the school gates and leave, unless you have an appointment with a teacher or school administrator.
All children have to show respect (wai) and greet every teacher in the morning.
Please contact the school office, if your child will be absent for any reason.
In compliance with Thai Ministry of Education regulations, children are required to wear a uniform. The following choices are available:
· >White shirt with student’s name embroidered on it. >
· >Scotch shorts or skirt with vest.>
· >PE uniform>
· >Black shoes and white socks>
· >Kindergarten students should be provided with a complete change of clothing everyday>
· >Northern Thai costumes can be worn on Fridays if desired>

If your child has been prescribed medication to be taken during school hours, please provide the school and classroom teacher with written and signed instructions for its administration, and please label any medication with your child’s name.
If your child becomes sick while at school, parents will be notified to make arrangements to pick them up.
School field trips are periodically scheduled to enrich your child’s learning experience. Teachers and parent volunteers will accompany the students on these field trips. A permission slip will be sent home for the parents to sign and return prior to field trips.
There will be no dangerous behavior on field trips. Any students engaging in dangerous behavior on school field trips will be banned from participating in school field trips for the rest of the school year. A parent/teacher conference will also be scheduled immediately to discuss the situation.
Toy Day and Prohibited Items
Toy Day will be held once a semester. Students should tell the teacher one day before what toy the student will bring. Children will be allowed to share and play with their toys from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. Children should give the toys to the teacher in the morning.
Mobile phones, snacks, toys, and money are prohibited for students, except for field trips or Toy Days. Mobile phones must be turned in before 8.20 a.m. to the classroom teacher. If students are found with any of these items they will be taken away and returned only to the parents.
Lunch and Snacks
AMEC provides lunch, snacks, and milk every day. Students are permitted to opt out of the school lunch/snack program. Please ensure that your child has been fed a nutritious breakfast before school. If your child has any allergies, or if there are any religious considerations regarding food, please contact the school so we can make suitable arrangements.
The school provides the option of group health insurance for students. Parents are required to pay ฿300/year if they desire this coverage.
Fighting, dangerous, or disrespectful behavior is strictly forbidden. Any student who fights, bullies, or engages in dangerous activities on school property or at school events, will be banned from the playground for up to one month. In addition, a parent/teacher conference will also be scheduled immediately.
Destruction of Property
Destruction of school property or other students’ property is not permitted. The parents of the offending student will have to repair or replace anything that a student intentionally damages or destroys. The student will also be banned from the playground for up to one month and a parent/teacher conference will be scheduled immediately.
Parents coming to school to drop off or pick up their children are not allowed to enter the school gates with their vehicles. Car parking is provided outside the school for picking up and dropping off students. Please do not block the gate or the access road in front of the school. Parents must not park on the shoulder of the highway. Use the provided parking spaces in front of the school. Parents should also not drive directly in front of the kindergarten gate at the front of the school. Parents are only allowed to bring their vehicles into the school if they have appointments or school business to conduct, or it is raining.
Students are required to participate in Sports Day, field trips and Boy Scout and Girl Guide Camp. Students who do not participate will not pass to the next grade level (Except for valid reason).
If your child is celebrating a birthday, please feel free to bring birthday cake or treats so we can celebrate during afternoon snack time at 3:00 p.m. If you choose to do so, please inform the school and classroom teacher at least one day in advance, so appropriate preparations can be made.
If you feel you have a special skill to teach the children, or you have any materials that you wish to donate, please contact the school office to make arrangements.
